Paper products

he process of manufacturing paper products

  • Collection and preparation of raw materials: The most common raw material is wood (e.g., spruce or eucalyptus), which is debarked and chipped into small pieces. These chips are then cooked in a chemical solution that breaks down lignin, producing pulp.

  • Pulp production: The obtained pulp can be bleached (for the production of white paper) or left unbleached (for the production of brown paper, such as for packaging products).

  • Paper forming: After processing the pulp, the paper is formed on paper machines, such as those at Mondi SCP in Ružomberok, where the production capacity reaches up to 300,000 tons of cardboard paper annually.

  • Finishing and distribution: Paper products, such as packaging, hygiene products, or cardboard boxes, are adjusted according to needs and prepared for distribution.

Companies like Mondi SCP and SHP Group are leaders in the production of paper products in Slovakia, placing a strong emphasis on eco-friendly practices and sustainability.
